The Big Retreat Community

We like to make good stuff happen, so the The Big Retreat Community was created to give these opportunities a life of their own, at the Festival and all year round.

We believe positive connections to the natural environment have the power to make you ‘Feel Good’. Our community branch aims to allow everyone to reap the benefits of the great outdoors. We believe in inclusivity, reaching out to diverse groups and providing safe accessible spaces to create inspirational connections where everyone is welcome.

By supporting positive mental health and creating the opportunity to reconnect to ourselves and others through nature, science and the arts we can support everyone to #FeelGood.

Empowering everyone to Feel Good

The Big Retreat community CIC is our social enterprise producing large and small scale events and experiences in natural landscapes. Our mission is to use the great outdoors to enhance people's connection to nature, biodiversity, arts and science in order to improve people's overall wellbeing. Empowering everyone to Feel Good.

Alongside our smaller events we will be using our established wellness festival to provide a platform for emerging talent, arts and culture in Wales. The Big Retreat Festival is a Welsh wellness festival. We will be using our platform to promote Welsh culture, heritage and the Arts. Our aim is to support emerging artists across the full spectrum of the Arts offering real world professional training and experiences to engage people with science, wellbeing and nature in order to create positive change in our communities, shaping a cultural environment where excellent outdoor experience thrives.

We believe in the power of nature and outdoor spaces to give people the opportunity to reconnect and enhance their wellbeing.

Our objectives include:-

  • Using our outdoor space at The Little Retreats to create safe training spaces for marginalised groups, offering training programmes within the wellness industry for social groups at risk
  • Develop and showcase talented emerging artists across the full spectrum of the Arts in Wales
  • Encourage public engagement with Science and biodiversity
  • Work with communities in Wales to bring about positive change through nature connection to enhance people's wellbeing and mental health

At our Christmas Fayre in November (in memory of Gryff Morgan) we raised over £4000 for local mental health initiatives, we are looking forward to sharing with you how the money from this project is being spent
